If you enjoy super soft cushioning and need a strong stability shoe then this review is for you. Today, we will be reviewing the Brooks Transcend 6, the newest stability shoe from Brooks Running. From the successful previous version Transcend (5) to now the Transcend 6, Brooks has changed the shoe around substantially. All the previous versions of this shoe did not feature GuideRails nor the same amount of cushioning the Transcend 6 has. Adding cushioning gives the runners a shoe that is very soft and comfortable for longer runs, however that still has a nice responsive feel when you pick up the pace. Another noticeable change in the Transcend 6 is the added width/space in the mid-foot compared to the Transcend 5. A lot of runners complained on how the Transcend 5 ran tight in some areas. Brooks changing the upper to more seamless allows the foot to run to its natural shape while wearing the shoe. Although, if there's one thing we've found with this new model is that some areas of the shoe still quite narrow, especially in the front toe-box. We also found that the raised drop (from 8 to 10mm) really slides your foot forward on your longer runs.

The Bottom Line: The Brooks Transcend 6 is a highly cushioned running shoe designed to handle overpronation. This model is a huge update from the Transcend 5, with a 2mm added stack height in the back for more cushioning and a added the GuideRail stability feature. The new iteration has a more minimalist look than the previous one (being 0.5oz lighter), with a engineered mesh and 4D-fit print seamless overlay serving as the shoes the upper. This shoe is perfect for any stability-runner who is a heel or mid-foot striker looking for a highly cushioned shoe for more mileage where it can still offers a ton of support.
